Cosmetic Surgery For Women

Due to the large discounts of up to 70%, more women are opting to go abroad for cosmetic surgery treatments than ever before. Cosmetic surgery for women is an ever-growing industry and with over 50,000 patients from the UK travelling abroad each year for their surgery, there seems to be no sign of recession.

The Boom in Cosmetic Surgery Abroad
The reasons women are now choosing to go abroad for their cosmetic surgery are fairly self evident; the surgery is of a high standard at a low cost, and has the added bonus of recuperation while enjoying a holiday. There is also the aspect of privacy; there is less chance of bumping into someone you know after an operation while you are on holiday abroad.

Not surprisingly the price aspect is the main factor why women choose to go abroad for their cosmetic surgery. Prices abroad are around a quarter of the price you would pay in Britain, which means that multiple operations can be achieved along with a relaxing holiday, sometimes for less than the cost of one operation in Britain.

Types of Cosmetic Surgery for Women
Basically any type of cosmetic surgery for women that can be performed in Britain can be performed abroad. The standard of surgery will be of the same in the UK; many surgeons have qualified in the UK and the US before setting up their own clinics in their native countries.Types of surgery and the savings in cost will be country specific, for example France is more popular with weight loss surgery and countries such as Croatia and Hungary are very popular for dental treatments. Always research beforehand and take the time to find out the best possible, qualified provider for the type of surgery you are intending.

Common Cosmetic Surgical Procedures
The options available in the field of cosmetic surgery are now far greater than ever before. The wider options are due to technological and medical advancements, and combined with the low prices when travelling abroad for surgery, it is now possible to have multiple treatments during the same operation. Listed below are some of the more common cosmetic surgical treatment available.

Facial Cosmetic Surgery
One of the most requested areas in cosmetic surgery for women are nose reshaping operations and face-lifts.

Face-lifts can be specific to one particular problem area or they can combine various operations such as eyebag removal, eye lifts, brow lifts, skin tightening, cheek reduction or cheek implants, neck lifts and chin reshaping.

Nose reshaping or rhinoplasty, can also be performed at the same time as a face-lift or as a separate operation. The timescale for operations will depend on the type of surgery but most will take between one to three hours, with around a ten to fourteen day recovery time. The operations will be performed while you are asleep with the use of anaesthetic. A stay overnight in the clinic will usually be needed for this type of surgery.

Eyebag Removal
Eyebag removal or blepharoplasty, will leave the eye area looking refreshed and younger. The surgery can eliminate drooping upper eyelids and bags from below the eyes. The surgery will leave the eye area looking less tired but it cannot guarantee the removal or wrinkles around the eye area.

Brow Lift
A brow lift is ideal for people who have deep creases in the forehead area or have eyebrows that have started to sag. The operation will be carried out under general anaesthetic and there will be some bruising and swelling to the treated area. Expect to stay overnight with a recovery time of around ten to fourteen days.

Cosmetic Dentistry
One of the most popular reasons that patients from the UK travel abroad is for the inexpensive cosmetic dentistry available. Compared to the cost in Britain, it simply makes sense to travel abroad and undergo this type of treatment. Missing teeth can be replaced using the most advanced dentistry procedures such as dental implants. If you were to have one tooth implanted in the UK it would cost around £2000, the same dental treatment in a country such as Croatia or Hungary will cost around a quarter of the price.

There are many different types of body and facial cosmetic surgery available if you decide to have surgery abroad. Depending on the type of operation there may be blood tests needed beforehand, these tests may be carried out in the UK before departure or at the clinic abroad. Always make sure you have enough information on the type of operation you are intending to have, and make sure that you have chosen a suitably qualified surgeon. A reputable surgeon or medical provider will answer as many of your questions as needed in order to allay any fears or doubts you have over your surgical treatment.
